In terms of training, senior employees provide thorough OJT training based on the philosophy that “people will not move unless you show them what they are doing, let them tell you what they are saying, and praise them.” In addition to on-the-job training, our company proactively supports employees to attend external training and seminars at full company expense, and to obtain certified technician qualifications through the national skill test.

Future vision оf the соmpany

“It is not the strongest that survives, nor
the smartest that survives.
The only survivors are those who can adapt to change.”

More than 70 years have passed since our company was founded, and
we started out as a loom manufacturer, then became a pachinko machine manufacturer, and
now we manufacture automobiles, construction machinery, semiconductors, machine tools, medical equipment, industrial robots, etc.
We have transformed into a “parts processing manufacturer” that supplies parts to manufacturers in various fields.
We will not be afraid of the changes of the times and, like Darwin’s theory of evolution mentioned above, will continue to strive for lasting and stable “customer satisfaction,” “employee satisfaction,” and “company profits” so that we can become “the fittest of the times.” We consider growth to be something that we can create in the future, and we would like to continue to be a company that is needed by the world.

Interview

Sutoh kikai has long holidays.
There was more than a week off during Golden Week and the end of the year.

Management Department Quality Assurance Division
Mr. O
Joined March 2021

Q. Please tell us the details of your work in detail.

The main job of the quality assurance department is to measure the finished product to confirm that it is as designed. We measure about 10 products every day. Measurements are performed using coordinate measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, etc., but depending on the product, variations must be suppressed to within ±5/1000 mm.
When starting up a new system, we start by creating a measurement program. I have to think about where and how to measure, so that’s the most difficult part.

Q.Please tell me why you chose Sutoh kikai for this job.

When I took early retirement from the company I had worked for for about 15 years and was thinking about where to work next, I was introduced toSutoh kikai through a career change agent. At my first company, I was using a coordinate measuring machine to take measurements, so I thought I would be able to put it to use right away. When I spoke with the company president during the interview, I thought he was a nice person, and we shared a common hobby (baseball), so that was the deciding factor for me to get the job.

Q. What are the good things about Sutoh kikai?

My previous company was a major company, and the president was just above the clouds. But at Sutoh kikai, you can talk to the president right away. I feel like that’s a good thing. The president is kind and listens to what his employees have to say!
During my first six months with the company, I was given a schedule of in-house training and external study sessions, where I was able to actually operate machines and learn specialized knowledge about measurements.
The good thing about Sutoh kikai after joining the company is that there are long holidays. There was more than a week off during Golden Week and the end of the year.

Q. What are your future goals (work/private)?

I have only recently joined the company, so I would like to measure a variety of products, gain experience, and learn more so that I can become someone that everyone can say, “if you leave it to him, everything will be fine.” I’ll do my best to make that happen in about a year!!

Q. Please give a message to people who are considering joining your company.

Sutoh kikai is a workplace where you can learn many things. We also have a variety of “measurement methods” such as “roughness measuring instruments” and “image measuring instruments”. I would be happy if we could work together. Please come!

Sutoh kikai does not have any trouble with human relations.
Our company culture is very respectful of each other.

Manufacturing Department, Manufacturing Section 2 Group Leader
Mr. T
Joined May 2020

Q. Please tell me the details of your job.

Work begins with the general manager and another group leader reporting on the progress of current projects and deciding on the day’s schedule. My main duties include troubleshooting line troubles, quality control, production improvement, and educating new employees on the line.
We manufacture a wide range of products, including commercial vehicle parts, medical equipment, semiconductor parts, and construction machiner

Q. Please tell me why you chose Sutoh kikai for this job.

I started machining after joining Sutoh kikai. I used to work as a car mechanic, but the company wasn’t doing well and I had to quit. So, while he was learning general-purpose lathes and machining at a vocational training center in Takasaki, he was approached by Sutoh kikai and was given a tour of the factory, which led to him joining the company.
At that time, I had a good impression of the president, and he talked to me very frankly, so I felt like I could talk to him about anything. Another reason was that I learned that Sutoh kikai is a company with very few people retiring (no one has left the company10 years), and I felt that it was a comfortable environment for workers. These two factors were the deciding factors for me to join the company.

Q. What are the good things about Sutoh kikai?

Since I joined the company, I have never heard anyone yell at me once. I believe this is because the president’s kindness permeates throughout the company. I think work is difficult in any workplace, but at Sutoh kikai, you don’t have to struggle with interpersonal relationships. There is an atmosphere and company culture of great mutual respect. It’s great that they create a comfortable working environment depending on the person’s health, age, and circumstances.
On holidays, Saturdays and Sundays are completely closed. It used to be different, but when I suggested that it would be better to have two days off on Saturday and Sunday, even if I had to work a little longer on weekdays, I was able to respond to my request.

Q. What are your future goals (work/private)?

I want to improve my skills. Because of my position, I have many opportunities to be relied upon by other employees, so I want to be able to live up to their expectations. I hope to bring everyone together and create a better workplace.
I believe that when something unexpected happens, I still don’t have much in the way of withdrawals. Looking at my seniors, I feel that there is nothing better than experience.

Q. Please give a message to people who are considering joining your company.

The atmosphere at work is very bright. Of course, it’s a job, so it’s demanding, but you can work in a way that suits you. I would like to work with positive people who enjoy making things. Please come visit us.
